The HIV RAPID SCREEN TEST KIT has been tested in various countries over a 3 year period and has proven to be 98% plus accurate in detection of antibodies to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and 2.

This test is only to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of potential infection with HIV-1 or 2. It is important that you confirm any positive results with your personal physician, who should do further testing through a Hospital or Laboratory.

Based on total of 583 specimens tested (76 HIV- 1ve and 507 HIV-1-2ve) the sensitivity was 100% and the specificity 99.7%. Based on a further test of 2859 specimens tested in 4 sites the overall sensitivity of the test was 99.7% and the specificity was 99.4%. The report said the test was found to be extremely simple to use, rapid and very reliable.

The Testing Kit was used in a study of 829 sera tested situations. (461 HIV+ ve and 368 HIV-ve). The sensitivity testing was 100% accurate. The specificity was 98.6% accurate.

It has received approval for use in Armenia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Ukraine and Yugoslavia, with approval pending in Brazil and Uruguay.
